Live from SIHH 2019 – Nicolas Baretzki of Montblanc

Perfect Replica

Nicolas Baretzki, CEO of Montblanc, portrays 2019 as a year that “will complete a part we began writing in 2015”. Alluding to the full coordination of Montblanc and Minerva, the brand will be “reworking all the product offerings from a Minerva approach”.

Focusing on two product offerings, the Heritage Collection roused by Minverva chronographs from the 1940s and 1950s, and the 1858 assortment, these are the features Baretzki imparts to us:

  • Designed to encapsulate Minverva’s exploration watches of the 1920s and 1930s, the 1858 Geosphere Limited Edition includes a triumphant combination of a 42mm bronze case and a khaki dial. Outfitted with a world time complication including two turning halves of the globe, Baretzki is certain this will be the model to recall from 2019. To solidify the brave soul of the watch, the pivoting bezel is graduated like a compass.
  • The Heritage Collection is vintage deeply and gets on the refinement and polish of Minerva chronographs of the 1940s and 1950s. The Montblanc Heritage Pulsograph highlights an eye-getting salmon dial, a domed dial with two zones, dab and numeral combinations for markers, a re-visitation of Arabic numerals, and a sapphire box crystal.  A restricted version of only 100 watches, the Heritage Pulsometer is furnished with a segment wheel chronograph motivated by Minverva’s verifiable Chronograph 13.20 type and wonderfully adorned by hand.
