When you think Jaeger-LeCoultre, you quickly think Reverso. Slender, exquisite, watchful and with the notorious reversible case. There had been some exceptionally complex forms however in the assortment, much the same as the Reverso Tribute Gyrotourbillon for the 85th commemoration of the model or moment repeaters. Today, La Grande Maison is bringing back complexity in its symbolic watch, with a thin, outwardly perfect and exquisite tourbillon model, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Tourbillon Duoface.
To mark its 185th commemoration, Jaeger-LeCoultre is taking another progression in the Reverso line, with this new Tribute Tourbillon Duoface, combining the twofold dialed idea with a complex development. Despite the fact that named as a “tribute” piece, this watch is totally new – plan, idea, movement… Equipped with another physically wound type, this watch is elite (a couple of pieces, in platinum) and, as regular with Duoface pieces, has more to show than what you may see from the start sight.
While complex Reverso watches were often rather massive, huge and thick, the new Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Tourbillon Duoface is about polish in the extents. The 950 platinum case, with a plan that needs no presentation any longer (it has all the necessary attributes of a Reverso watch… Art Deco style, triple notches), quantifies just 45.5mm x 27.4mm. It is accordingly no bigger than a standard Reverso Classic Large model – which wears much the same as this one . Surprisingly better, the thickness of the whole case, including the twofold caseback and the reversible framework, is just 9.15mm. No awful for a tourbillon watch.
As consistently with twin dial watches by JLC, the Reverso Tribute Tourbillon Duoface has two countenances. The first – the one that is by all accounts the every day wearer – shows an exemplary sunray brushed blue dial with Dauphine hands and applied lists. Hours and minutes in the middle and an enormous gap at 6 o’clock to show the artful dance of the flying tourbillon – without an upper extension and with its hairspring uncommonly positioned on top of the module.
The second face of Reverso Tribute Tourbillon Duoface is rather extraordinary however no less intriguing. Considerably more specialized, it shows the development with a silvered grained dial above for the autonomous second time region and the evening and-day pointer. This face of the watch is more specialized, with a perspective on the tourbillon connect. The seconds are shown in an astounding manner. As the tourbillon turns counter-clockwise here, the seconds are engraved on the tourbillon confine and demonstrated by a bolt on the tourbillon bridge.
Altogether, this recently evolved hand-wound calibre 847 shows hours and minutes on the principle dial and the seconds on the tourbillon, a subsequent time region and a sign of the day-and-night on its other dial. Its determinations (power hold, recurrence) haven’t been uncovered yet. As normal with JLC, the enhancement is wonderful – blued screws, sloped points, reflect cleaned steel parts, emanating Geneva stripes.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Tourbillon Duoface is worn on a blue croc lash. It will be created in 50 pieces just and valued at USD 123,000. More subtleties on www.jaeger-lecoultre.com .
